More Than Meets the Iowa

My name is Morgan Ebel. I just finished my junior year at Iowa State University this last spring, and my major is Horticulture Landscape Design, Management, and Installation. This summer I am interning at Reiman Gardens in the Garden and Landscape Maintenance Position. I was very thrilled when given this opportunity. A lot can be learned and experienced through this internship. I have been working for about three weeks now, and have experienced so much already. Over the past three weeks, we have been doing a lot of weeding, tilling, and planting. Reiman Gardens’ theme is “More Than Meets the Iowa”. It has been lots of fun getting ready and planting all of the Iowa themed plant beds. It will be even more exciting when everything is planted and established. One of my favorite parts of the Gardens is the topiary pieces shaped as barn animals in the Children’s Garden. They really add character to the garden and the people walking through love them. It is a lot of fun watching all of the different gardens taking shape and coming together. It has been a great experience so far with more to come!
