About the Job: Morgan Stewart – Events Intern

Being the event management intern isn’t just about showing up on event day, there is a lot of office work that goes on leading up to events. My day to day work consists of sending out a lot of emails. Working in events requires spending a large amount of time on organizing people and being sure they are informed about what is required of them for events. These people can be food vendors, bands, fellow Reiman Garden staff members, or event participants.

This summer my biggest project I have been working on is Garden Art Fair. Preparing for this involves sending out emails to the artists to be sure they know what is happening at all points of the planning process so when they show up for the event everything runs smoothly. I have also been in contact with local food vendors from Ames to ask them to sell food at Garden Art Fair. Working with the communications department has been part of my tasks to be sure the general public knows about the event! It would be great to see a large crowd at Garden Art Fair on July 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
