Reiman Garden intern standing on a ladder in the conservatory

As the Landscape and Garden Maintenance intern here at Reiman Gardens, I spend almost all of my time outside doing daily chores like watering and weeding, but I have also helped with larger projects such as removing the sod across from the Children’s Garden and covering the hoop house.

On the rare occasion I’m not working outside, due to weather, I’m usually found inside working on my leadership project. For my project I chose to create a set of plant identification scavenger hunts. Each scavenger hunt will send participants to all corners of the Gardens hunting for and learning about plants. For this particular project I chose to focus on trees as they are a permanent part of the Gardens and can be found all four seasons.

The scavenger hunts are not quite finished yet but should be available later this month. Look for them in the front entryway, and discover how much fun it is to learn and explore!
