Amy Strandell — Intern Rotation

Now that the summer internship program is in full swing at Reiman Gardens, I have experienced so much in just a short month! As an intern, we are able to participate in rotations into different areas throughout the Gardens for a well-rounded experience that many other internships don’t offer. Last week I had the pleasure of working with the outdoor horticulture group who is in charge of making Reiman Gardens the beautiful place that it is. As an event management intern, this experience was completely out of my comfort zone; however, I ended up having a blast and a new appreciation for the work they do. I helped weed garden beds, added new mulch, and provided maintenance on our kraken tentacles out in the Campanile Garden!
If you haven’t been to the Gardens yet this summer, you need to see the Washed Ashore exhibit that showcases Reiman Garden’s water theme for 2017. You’ll also find other water related sculptures our team has made special for this year! We look forward to seeing you this summer!
