Clara Kittleson — Education Intern

My name is Clara, and I am one of the education interns this summer. I am going into my senior year at Iowa State as a biology major and am planning on getting my master’s degree in education. Currently my plan after school is to become a high school or middle school biology teacher, but my plans are always changing!

Being an Iowa State student, I have gotten free admission to Reiman Gardens since freshman year, and I have used that free admission a lot. I am so excited to be able to spend my whole summer here and get involved with many of the youth education programs. As one of the education interns, I will be helping with many of the children’s programs at the Gardens and I am excited to be leading those with the other education intern, Hannah. Even though I have only worked here for a month, I have already led several youth tours and programs such as Kids Story Time, Plant Pals, and a summer camp. I love being able to work in a place with so many friendly people, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer holds!
