Hannah Bengtson — Education Intern

I’m Hannah, and I am one of the education interns. This year will be my senior year studying biology at Iowa State. I grew up in Ames, so it has been a really exciting opportunity being able to get involved here at Reiman Gardens. My future plans are still completely up in the air, but right now I am leaning towards becoming a high school biology teacher. I am looking forward to integrating my interests in working with high schoolers with this education internship. I also hope to inspire the youth that we are working with to enjoy nature and get outside more often!

Even after working here for just a few weeks, I have already learned a lot about plants and butterflies. I have been leading lots of school tours and youth programs, as well as planning and preparing for Kid’s Story Time, Plant Pals, Discovery Stations, and summer camps. Come visit the Gardens and say hi if you spot me walking around!
