Every year, the Trial and Display Garden at Reiman Gardens evaluates new plants for All-American Selections (AAS), a nationally recognized non-profit organization. AAS has been operating since 1933 with the mission of promoting new plant cultivars that have superior garden performance.

This year the Trial Garden will have nasturtium (Topaeolum minus), petunias (Petunia x hybrid), zinnias (Zinnia elegans), peppers (Capsicum annuum), squash (Cucurbita pepo), tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum), and many other ornamentals and vegetables. The AAS Winners of 2018 will be planted alongside the new entries. These plants were planted last year as well, and act as a benchmark to compare new entries to.
