Richa Patel- Reiman Gardens in Motion

Hi everyone, it’s Richa once again. This time I wanted to talk about the Gardens’ theme of the year, Movement and the exhibit Wind, Waves and Light and how it correlates with Reiman Gardens’ mission statement – educate, enchant, and inspire an appreciation of plants, butterflies, and the beauty of the natural world.
As a Plants Collection and Records Intern, I do a lot of plant walks for collecting different plant samples, mapping and photographing. It’s amazing to see how wind and light plays an important role in our lives. I love the way the whole garden is in movement. From the rays of light filtering through the Bald Cypress Alley to the Quaking Aspens by the North Lawn Garden, from the all cooled Shade Garden to the beautiful Butterfly Wing, everything’s in full swing.
I consider myself the lucky one to enjoy the beauty of the Gardens and portray it through my pictures and sketches. It’s so amazing to capture the beauty of the Gardens with some kind of movement constantly happening.
