Sadie Thiele – Private Events Intern

My name is Sadie Thiele, and I am the Private Events Intern at the Gardens this summer! This week, we had our first intern field trip, and we visited the Iowa Arboretum and the Christian Petersen Art Museum. At the Iowa Arboretum, I really enjoyed getting to see the handful of their wedding ceremony locations they have on site! My favorite spot at the Iowa Arboretum, as you can see in the photo, was under a beautiful Jones Memorial Gazebo! As for the whole garden, I really enjoyed the open layout.

The Christian Petersen Art Museum was a very different and interesting tour for me! The exhibit on display was super cool, but the part that intrigued me was hearing about their rentals. Being such a small space with such delicate pieces scattered throughout, their customers and system of renting are very different. I think that it would be a fun challenge to try and accommodate groups in a unique space like the museum. Overall, I really enjoyed both locations and the chance to bond with my fellow interns!
