Molly Osweiler, Volunteer Management Intern

Hi everyone! My name is Molly Osweiler and I’m the Volunteer Management Intern at Reiman Gardens this summer! I will be a sophomore at Iowa State this fall and I’m majoring in marketing and management with a minor in international business. My internship so far has not only been an amazing learning experience in relation to management, but it’s also been a lot of fun!
A typical week for me involves doing a lot of small projects, so you can almost always find me sitting behind my laptop somewhere throughout the Gardens. I’m usually researching and brainstorming various ways to improve and maintain the volunteer program. Some specific assignments that I’ve been finishing up have involved coming up with incentives to keep volunteers active throughout the year, ways to engage students in volunteering at the Gardens, new ideas for expressing appreciation, and more! It’s really exciting to see some of my proposals come to life and to know that I’m having a positive impact on the volunteer program.
Overall, I’ve been loving my summer job. If you see me somewhere around the Gardens, don’t hesitate to say hello! I’d love to meet you and tell you more about the volunteer program!
