Event Garden Art Fair outdoors with different booths of artists selling their wares

Hi everyone! I, Katie, am back for my second blog of the summer. This week I would like to talk about my experience thus far as the Special Events Intern. I have been fortunate to have multiple event opportunities so far, those of which include Pollinator Fest, the Rose Show (canceled), the Lily Show, Fourth of July Celebration (canceled), Reiman Gardens After Hours, and Garden Art Fair. Although one-third of my events were canceled due to weather, I still had the opportunity to plan and organize each event’s operation, which was very exciting!

My favorite event was the Garden Art Fair. I was able to communicate with all of the artists leading up to the event, and I had the opportunity to select the food vendors for the day as well. I enjoyed the ability to manage our helpers throughout the day and problem-solve issues that arose throughout the event. The Garden Art Fair was a huge learning opportunity for me, and I am thankful for the ability to showcase my passion of the event industry here at Reiman Gardens.
