Retail Management Intern’s Leadership Project

My leadership project this summer is creating a sunflower display in the Gift Shop as the Retail Management Intern. The first step in this project was brainstorming types of merchandise that I thought would both be popular and fit in with the mission of Reiman Gardens and the Gift Shop. The merchandise category I decided on was sunflowers! Next, I worked with my supervisor on buying the merchandise and planning out my display. I received, inventoried, and priced all of the sunflower merchandise. I also created the display and visually merchandised it. This project was a super fun experience for me, and I learned a lot about retail. It helped me get a lot of knowledge that will help me in my future career!
