Southeast gardens feature more than rhododendrons and azaleas! When they flower, they are the spectacle that drives garden tourism, but plant diversity abounds, and this region boasts of seasonal interest and bloom, as well as some of the most acidic soils in the country. Conifers dominate, thrive, and transition to heavy tropical influence the further south we head. Florida is one of our primary winter destinations and is especially rich in public gardens.
