American Peony Society National Convention Exhibition & Seminars

Saturday, May 18, 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 19, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Reiman Gardens is pleased to host the American Peony Society National Convention Exhibition & Seminars. Visitors are invited to view the peony flowers on display as well as attend educational sessions based on the 2019 theme “Back to Our Roots.”

Judging of the flowers will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and the show will open to the public from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. Visitors may see the flowers on display from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The general public is encouraged to enter the peony flower show -- both individual stems and the design competition.

  • Saturday:
    • 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. flower show open to the public
    • 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. vendors selling potted peonies, books, etc.
    • 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. book signing: Peony: The Best Varieties for Your Garden  by Carol Adelman and David Michener
    • Seminars open to the public in the Mahlstede Building
      • 1:30 p.m. "Peonies 101" by Carol Adelman, owner of Adelman Peony Gardens
      • 2:30 p.m. "Species Peonies" by Harvey Buchite, owner of Hidden Springs Flower Farm
      • 3:30 p.m. "Saunders Herbaceous Peonies" by Lois Girton
  • Sunday:
    • 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. flower show open to the public
    • 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. vendors selling potted peonies, books, etc.
    • Seminars open to the public in the Mahlstede Building
      •  11:00 a.m. "Lemoine's Disease: What's Behind the Scenes?" by Cullen Shaffer, University of Arkansas
      • 1:00 p.m. "Woody Peonies" by Nate Bremer, owner of Solaris Farms
      • 2:00 p.m. "Ask the Experts" featuring a panel of APS board members
