September 12 - 16

Plan to join  us on a fall trip to America’s garden capital, the Philadelphia and Wilmington area with focus on the great DuPont estates and gardens as well as other great sites and destinations with Reiman Gardens' Director Ed Lyon as your personal tour guide!

Please see the itinerary for a description of our complete tour route.

World Class Destinations

Our visit includes world-class destinations: Longwood Gardens, considered the country’s iconic world-class public garden, and Chanticleer, revered by horticulture experts as the most creative and inspiring.

We’ll also visit the 77-room Nemours Estate mansion, housing the largest formal French gardens in North America and Mt. Cuba Center, a DuPont estate dedicated to native plant preservation. We will tour renowned gardens at iconic sites such as The Brandywine River Museum of Art, Terrain at Styers, and the Hagley Museum and Library (the first du Pont family home).

A Special Evening at the Home of Ed Lyon's Friends Dan & Peggy

A very special evening will be spent at the home of my friends Dan Benarcik, horticulturist at Chanticleer, and horticulturist Peggy Anne Montgomery. We’ll enjoy evening hors d’oeuvres in their spectacular home garden.

The City of Brotherly Love

We’ll spend a day in one of America’s oldest and most historic cities, Philadelphia, exploring sights such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Reading Terminal Market, and the Betsy Ross House. You will also have the chance to dine at the City Tavern, a reconstructed Colonial tavern where servers in period dress deliver old-fashioned American fare.

Come on Along!

Ed Lyon has personally visited each of these sites multiple times, and can’t wait to host our group. This tour has been planned with Reiman Gardens’ members and friends in mind and the sites have been selected to maximize our experience.

Please see the itinerary for a description of our complete tour route as well as photos of our fabulous locals.
