Workshop: Basic Soap Making with Botanicals

Saturday, January 19, 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Discover the traditional craft of cold-process soap making using botanicals with instructor and soap maker Jan Verploeg. You will learn all about the basic process, plant oils, plant additives and fragrances. You will create soap from a recipe while learning how to handle lye safely. A messy but fun process so wear old clothing with a long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes and bring an apron. Leave class with two batches of new soap (approximately 1 1/2 pounds). Preregistration with prepayment is required by Thursday, January 17.
