Bald Cypress Allee
An allee (pronounced ah-lay) is a classic garden walkway structure lined with either trees or shrubs. At Reiman Gardens you’ll find an allee created with intriguing bald cypress trees, native to the southeastern United States, and well suited to grow in Iowa. Bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) is a conifer, with needle shaped leaves and it’s also deciduous, meaning its tiny leaves are shed in fall. Be sure to jump and make some music on the CoHorts’ Dancing Chimes at the north end of the Allee.
